The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is U.S. Soccer’s national conference, which includes a meeting of the Board of Directors and the National Council meeting. More information about the AGM can be found here.
When is the AGM?
The AGM will take place Friday, February 9-Sunday, February 11 in Orlando, Florida.
Who is at the AGM?
The National Council consists of: Youth, Adult, Pro, Athletes, Affiliates, Life Member and the Board of Directors.
As a member, what do I have the chance to vote on if I am selected to represent U.S. Soccer Members?
The election of the President and Vice President of the Federation, election of the three Independent Directors to the Board, approval of the budgets of the Federation, and the adoption of amendments to the articles of incorporation, bylaws and policies of the Federation.
What information do I need to provide apply?
When you apply, you will need to provide your name, email address, membership status, and why you would be a good representation of U.S. Soccer Membership at the AGM.
What information is included in the background check?
The background screening requires the following information:
Date of Birth
Social Security Number
Valid email address
Prior addresses for the past five years
Basic criminal history (simple yes/no questions)
Will I have the opportunity to vote on who I want to represent U.S. Soccer Members at the AGM?
Yes. All active members will have the opportunity to vote once on who they wish to have represent U.S. Soccer Membership. The top five candidates with the most votes will be selected for the Fan Council. The Fan Council will decide the two delegates and two alternates for the AGM.
How much of a time commitment is this?
Delegates will be expected to attend one in person meeting at Soccer House in November, one conference call in January prior to the AGM, and the National Council Meeting Friday, February 9-Sunday, February 11 in Orlando, Florida.
I am unable to attend the AGM, but want to still be involved in the council. What can I do?
You can still be a representative of the Fan Council, however, your vote will not be counted at the AGM.
Will U.S. Soccer cover my travel expenses to and from Orlando?
U.S. Soccer will pay for your registration, but hotel accommodations and travel expenses will need to be covered by the delegates. Registration fees will not be covered for alternates.
As a member on the Fan Council, how long will my term be?
Members will represent fans on the Fan Council for a two-year term.
When is the deadline to apply?
Applications must be submitted here no later than 11:59pm PT on Friday, September 8.
